Our Staff Team
We recognise the importance of maintaining a high quality staff team, we will encourage and facilitate that each staff member develops their own professional learning through engagement with Argyll and Bute’s early years varied continual professional development programme. To ensure partnership working staff will have time to reflect, sharing practice and take part in professional dialogue with other colleagues.
We will continually monitor and develop Silver Birch’s outdoor area to provide a rich and provocative environment, which is inspiring for our children, families, communities. We will build positive attitudes towards the value of our natural world and place great emphasis on learning for sustainability. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum with opportunities for children to explore, experiment and investigate and be creative through outdoor play and we work in partnership with families to develop the best support for their child’s overall development.
I’m Lisa Bulloch. I am the Lead Practitioner at Silver Birch Outdoor Nursery. I have worked in nurseries for over twelve years and have for the last three years been part of Argyll and Bute’s Early Years Team with strategic responsibility for Outdoors. I have a PgDip in Childhood Practice, am qualified as a Woodland and Coastal Activity Leader and an SVQ assessor. I am currently working through the Froebel in Childhood Practice certificate. I am excited to share my love of the outdoors with our children and their families by giving them the opportunities to connect with nature and the natural environment. I love to upcycle using loose parts, have boundless energy and enjoy the freedom of being outdoors. I am a keen hill runner, trig hunter, enjoy paddle boarding and can’t wait to play and learn outdoors with our children!
I’m Kerry Thorup. I am an Outdoor Childcare and Education Worker at Silver Birch. I have a PgDip in Childhood Practice. I love growing plants for my garden and vegetables to eat. I spend lots of time with my family at the beach, mainly in the water and on our Kayak. Being outside in the forests and glens makes me feel relaxed and appreciative of the wonderful place that we live in.
Hi, I’m Jackie Brown. I am an Outdoor Childcare and Education Worker at Silver Birch. I am in my second year of the PgDip in Childhood Practice. I have a huge love of outdoors and enjoy spending my free time hill-walking, running, wild sea dooking. I also love arts and crafts and martial arts. I have a degree in Environmental Biology and a strong background in science (having worked as a scientist for the past 16 years). I love encouraging children to explore and connect with their natural environment and I hope to inspire some future scientists though experiences in STEM activities
Hi, my name is Katie Bicket and I’m an Outdoor Childcare and Education Worker at Silver Birch. I have an HNC in Childhood Practice and I’ve worked with children for 8 years and I love being outside. I like to go camping and exploring our environment, and my favourite season is spring.
Hello I’m Stuart, I am the Janitor for Silver Birch Outdoor Nursery in Dunoon. Having spent most of my childhood on the beach or in the woods, I have always enjoyed being outdoors. I am looking forward to seeing the children benefit from outdoor experiences and explore their new environment.
Hi, I’m Abby Cameron and I’m an Outdoor Childcare and Education Worker at Silver Birch. I have an SVQ3 in Social Services Children and Young People. I love working with children because of their imaginations and funny, bubbly personalities. I love to travel and experience new places and cultures.

I spend lots of time outdoors with my family and our lovely dog. I enjoy spending time outdoors exploring. At Silver Birch, I love to use our wildlife camera to find out more about the wildlife we have in the forest.
